A Runners Waist Pack - The Runners Best Friend

Picture
You heard right, the runner's best friend.  A runners waist pack gives a runner many advantages.  It increases their endurance and stamina, helps muscles perform at their peak level, and speeds up your recovery time.  What more could you want?  Oh, and it gives you a great place to put your keys, phone and snacks.

So how does a runners waist pack improve stamina?  It helps you get the regular required hydration that all runners need.  Your muscles are like well oiled machines...that you need to keep well oiled.  You do that by drinking regularly (6-8 oz/20 minutes), and drinking right.  No caffeine, and plenty of electrolytes if you're running for over an hour.  By drinking the right fluids regularly, you keep a steady stream of fuel headed to those valuable muscles.  This decreases the buildup of lactic acid, keeps them from getting fatigued as quickly, and helps them recover more effectively than if you were to wait until the end of a run and have a water binge.  A runners waist pack is truly a great asset to your workouts.

Along with hydration, a runners waist pack is great to make runs more convenient.  Ever need a place to put your keys so they won't bounce around?  Most runners waist packs come with padded zippered pockets so you can easily run with your keys, your cell phone, music player, maybe an ID and a credit card for those "just in case" moments.  Some also run with an epi-pen or an inhaler for emergencies.  You never know what you might need, but now you won't have to choose.  Just get the right runners waist pack for your typical workouts and enjoy a more pleasant experience all around.

I got myself a runners waist pack when I was training for the Lake Tahoe Marathon.  Nothing helped me more.  I didn't have to stop to refuel, I didn't have to run in complete circles all the time to make it back to the drinking fountain.  My runs were much more pleasant and I was able to go even greater distances than I did before.  I would recommend to every runner, beginner or experienced, to grab a runners waist pack first thing, and you'll have a greater chance at running success.
